Description:

Cholesterol is essential for building cells and producing certain hormones. Cholesterol is carried through the blood by two types of lipoproteins: low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL). LDL is often referred to as "bad" cholesterol because it can lead to a buildup of cholesterol in the arteries, while HDL is known as "good" cholesterol because it helps remove cholesterol from the arteries.
