Creatinine

Group: Kidney function

Description:

Creatinine is a waste product produced by muscles during regular daily activity. Normally, the kidneys filter creatinine from the blood and excrete it through urine. In case of kidney problems, creatinine may accumulate in the blood and is excreted to a lesser extent in the urine. If creatinine levels in the blood and/or urine are not normal, this may be a sign of kidney disease.
