Aliases: Lymphs

Group: Complete blood count

Description:

Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cell found in the lymph. Lymphocytes are of three main types: T lymphocytes, B lymphocytes, and natural killer cells. Together, lymphocytes are the main component of the body's adaptive immune response and usually account for about 20-40% of the total circulating white blood cells at any given time. They act by identifying foreign objects, such as bacteria and viruses, and generating a tailored response to eliminate the invader.
